Fell short but went everytime I could.
I never just whimped out.

Something you might not know about me is that …
when I was in my 20’s I always wanted to take off to Alaska and work in a Cannery. Well 20 years latter and $45,000 in debt I made that dream come true. In 2007 I headed up the Case-up department. Basically I was in charge of the the freezer and shipping departments. This all consuming job was so stressful and taxed every bone in my body. When the summer was over I had such pride in what I had accomplished but during the ordeal I didn’t think I was going to make it. I quit so many times in my head but I stuck it out and actually lost 20 pounds.

This summer I am going to chase after another dream from my 20’s. I want to be a Flagger. That’s right I want to stand on the side of the road and Stop traffic. I just got certified and I’ll start looking for my summer job this next week.

  1. Looks like you did pretty well overall – congrats!

    • Thanks Lori. I can’t believe how quickly 10 weeks have past. Hurray for Spring Break 🙂

  2. Hey Shelli! Good luck with your biggest loser week!!! I’ll bet you’re stoked! I don’t have a week off, but I do have next Wed off. I think I’ll make that a ‘last chance workout’ day. LOL. Thanks for all your encouragement on my blog, I really appreciate it.

That cannery experience sure does sound fascinating!

  3. We made it to the end of 10 weeks! You did well on your goals.
A canner and a flagger! Hey, I hear that flagger job is dangerous… I hope it pays well! You’ll have to post about it later and tell us all the details.

  4. Congrats on your progress over the past 10 weeks Shelli. You are moving forward with your goals and that is a good thing. I bet the canning position was challenging, but quite an accomplishment. Good luck with the flagger position.

  5. Great job completing the challenge Shelli! I also love it that you are completing your dreams. That is pretty impressive!

  6. Great job on finishing the challenge. You did a fabulous job with your goals!
