It is for freedom that Christ has set us free!

Deb is hosting a four week Summer Challenge.  I think this is ideal for me while I am on vacation.  I really want to have very simple goals that are measurable week by week.  I need to be able to feel good about what I am deciding to do for myself.

Ok here it goes…

1. 7 days a week
I’m going to drink a gallon of water/tea. Yep 64 oz. Which is 4 quarts.

2. 7 days a week
I will record my food and workouts via my BodyBugg

3. 6 days a week
I will go to the gym. I thought I was going to walk the spots off of Solomon the dalmation while I was dogsitting but he has a set routine. So I joined the gym.  I’ll even have 8 sessions with a trainer.

4. Five days a week
I will be in bed by 10 and up by 6. So…
Rap things up by 9
Be in bed by 9:30
Lights out at 10:00

There is FREEDOM with in boundaries.

April 1st – June 21st

Hurray for Spring.  Loretta began a new Challenge for us on the first day of Spring.  In Alaska Spring won’t be hitting here until the end of May but a gal can dream.  Here are the details and my goals.

The Primal Stride Challenges officially lasted for two weeks.
It was a real kick off to the New Year.

I’m very pleased with my results.

1/07 Day 1 - What a great challenge.  I think week-long challenges are going to be a great way to keep my focus in 2010.

CRUNCH 1- I didn’t know I could do 250 crunches.  I wonder what it will feel like tomorrow.
CRUNCH 2- The vegetable crunch was easy – broccoli. It was very good.

1/09 Day 2 – I’m sore
CRUNCH 1- 250 OUCH!
CRUNCH 2- The vegetable crunch today was not my favorite- green beans. BLAH!
As a kid I hated green beans. As an adult if one slips into a dish and I’m unaware I have no problem with the green beast.  Oh but a whole dish of the slimy green worms drives me crazy.  Oh especially in a lunch line at school. Blahhhh!  Like every kid sometimes your vegetables are the worst kind of torture at dinner.  Well one evening I had a brillant idea.  All throughout dinner I snuck the little green stalks into my milk.  I was so sly.  I was believing that I was getting away with it until my father told me that I could leave the table when I finished my milk. Blaakkk!  You see the milk was in a clear glass. (I didn’t say I was a brilliant kid). Ahhh I can still see those slimy green worms  staring at me with every slosh and gulp.

1/10 Day 3 – I was crunched for time.  I didn’t start my crunches until 4p.m.
CRUNCH 1- 250 OUCH!
CRUNCH 2- The vegetable crunch today was a green smothie.  Very good. I could really taste the bannana and the pear.  The spinach just added the color I needed to meet my crunch goal.

  • Here’s my recipe:
    1 cup of filtered water
    1 large banana
    1 pear, sliced
    2 handfulls of baby spinach
Hint:  Blend the fruit with the water first.

1/11 Day 4 -  Opps!!
CRUNCH 1- Peppers are a fruit and not a vegetable. It’s because they have seeds.    TheGood thing there was a medley of other vegies in the mix.
CRUNCH 2- The crunches are getting easier.  It’s a good burn.

1/12 Day 5 - Didn’t start until 4 p.m. Not wise.
Crunched snow peas. Very good.
Crunched 250 and it is getting easier. Who knew?

1/13 Day 6 - One more day
Crunch 1 = Wheat grass in a smoothie Yummmm
Crunch 2 = 250/250 They’re not painful anymore.

1/14 Day 7 - I did it and I  lost 6 lbs this week!
Crunch 1 = Parsely is not just for decoration. :-)
Crunch 2 = 250/250 Hurray!!!
